Located in the countryside just a few minutes to the south of Volterra in the Caggio area, we are pleased to offer this 4 bedroom 4 bathroom tastefully renovated farmhouse sitting in almost 3 acres of land and with above ground swimming pool. The farmhouse provides about 375m2 of accommodation over two floors with both internal and external access as well as benefiting from a barn of about 30m2 currently used as storage but could be used as a garage with large double doors. On the ground floor there is a spectacular kitchen with a large island and dining area. This leads directly into the brick arched portico where you find additional shaded sitting and dining areas with lovely views over the floral terrace and further views towards the land and attractive surrounding gardens. This area provides a cool and refreshing place to escape from the summer heat, where you can enjoy al fresco meals and cool breezes. Adjacent to the kitchen there is a laundry room and a technical room with pantry area. From the kitchen we enter directly into the large light and spacious reception room, divided into three zones. A winter sitting room area with antique stone fireplace, a central dining and sitting area, and a further dining option with a large table for entertaining. This level also benefits from a guest bathroom with shower. The landing area on the first floor has been transformed into a bright and airy summer sitting room with access to a balcony where you can admire the views. There are four spacious bedrooms, one of which is currently used as a studio with storage area, and on this floor there are three bathrooms, two with shower and one with bath. The property has a total of 11,653m2 (about 2.85 acres) of land, offering complete privacy. There are a few olive trees and two very beautiful Mulberry trees and an ancient Acacia tree close to the house. The surrounding land is maintained very well by the current owners, with many plants and flowers including the Tuscan aromatic plants Rosemary, Thyme and Lavenders. There is a peaceful and tranquil ambience which creates a very cosy and charming atmosphere around the totally unspoilt and natural setting of this house. The above ground swimming pool surrounded on two sides by a wooden deck terrace is perfectly situated to enjoy the sunsets and spectacular views towards Volterra and the surrounding countryside. There are gates to the rear of the property and also a large parking area and access on the south side, whilst large parts of the property are completely fenced thus making it safe for pets. A lovely property, within easy reach of the city of Volterra with all amenities and yet set in a tranquil setting with magnificent views.
Casa Travella was founded in 1987 when Linda & Pietro Travella saw an opportunity to offer Italian property for sale. At this time there were very few companies that offered any property for sale in Italy. Now years later read some of their story.
The company is fronted by Linda Travella and Casa Travella started selling property on Lake Como, where Pietro was born and Linda has worked and lived. The company were able to offer advice on numerous properties and ongoing help with all aspects of the buying process. If a client wants to restore a property, then Casa Travella can source tradesmen and professionals in the area and help with every aspect of the transaction.
When the BBC were looking for someone to speak on BBC Breakfast News about European property Linda was chosen to appear live on the programme. Other TV and radio programmes followed including Radio 5 Live, and ‘I want that House’ with Mark Simpkins, where Linda appeared in 6 episodes, the last one being a live programme from Florida, where an Italian apartment was given away as a prize. Linda appeared for RTE, Irish TV and for Channel 4‘s ‘A Place in the Sun’, where she accompanied Amanda Lamb along the shores of Lake Como by boat, to show her some of the stunning villas, including the one owned by George Clooney.
The Casa Travella team are always pleased to help when clients want to buy or sell a property in Italy. The office is multilingual with English, Italian and Spanish being spoken.
Linda says: ‘I feel proud that we can offer property for sale in many areas of Italy and we are able to give clients independent and professional advice on areas and types of property to suit their budget and needs.’
The Casa Travella team look forward to helping you buy or sell your Italian home.
