Lake Como
watch the video clip ITV I want that
house
If you would like yo buy a property in an area of exceptional beauty and be situated in a
very good position to travel to other parts of Europe, then Lake Como is the place for
you. It also has the added advantage of beautiful summer weather and mild winters, but it
is close to the ski slopes for those lovers of winter sports. You can go by coach for the
day from Como town to Madesimo in mid winter to ski for the day.
We could not mention this area without the names of such famous designers as Armani and
Versace, but it is not only designer clothing that is available, there are many markets,
either along the shores of the lake or in Como town, where there is a large market at
least twice a week.
Access is easy and there are 3 airports in Milan, Linate and Malpensa & Bergamo. with
many special offers available from Easy Jet and Ryan Air. In high season there were
flights for as little as £90 and mid season you can fly for as little as £45!.
Many very famous artists and writers, such as Shelley, Winston Churchill have found their
inspiration on Lake Como and it is easy to see why, the views are stunning and the food
and wine, as always, delicious.
Casa Travella can offer a large selection of property in this area, in
fact too much to list here, if you do not see
what you want. Please do not hesitate to contact Linda Travella for
additional properties or advice.

Watch the video clip ITV I want that house Part 1 Part 2
Lake Maggiore is the second
largest of the lakes after Garda and winds majestically between Lombardy and Piedmont. it
was chiseled out of the mountains in the Ice age and the climate improved enough by Roman
times for it to take the name Lacus Verbanus, for the verbana that still grow by its
shores along with the camellias and azaleas. The lake is set apart from the others by the
wonderful Borromean islands that still belong to the Borremeo family from Milan , who also
hold the fishing rights over the whole lake and have done since the 16th century! The
western shore of the lake is the most scenic towns are Stresa, Baveno and Verbania. The
area is easy to travel to from Milan where there are 2 airports. The nearest is Malpensa
and it is just one hours drive away .Very important is you are thinking of travelling
regularly. Prices can be as low as £40.00 return out of season and even in August return
fares can be found for as low as £90.00. Casa Travella can offer you splendid period
villas of days gone by or apartments in period villas. These properties are all set in
wonderful gardens and have delightful lake views. You can buy a 3 bedroom detached house
with lake view and private garden for around £200.000.00 or a newer style apartment in a
Residence with facilities such as swimming pool and tennis court. If you cannot see the
sort of property you require please contact us and we will see if we can help you.

Barolo, Nebbiolo and Bareresco, to name but a few.
You can fly Turin , Genoa or even Milan and depending on which area you are going to it
will take about one and a quarter hours.
This is the land of farmhouses and open spaces. If that appeals to you then please see a
list of our selection of properties and you will see that you can get great value for

Western Liguria
Good wine, delicious
food and wonderful scenery, what more could you want when you are thinking of buying a
property! Now I suspect you are saying 'cheap flights and easy access' yes, you can have
those as well. To fly to this area you can use airports of Nice or Genoa, at the moment of
writing this there are flights for 30.000 RETURN. Without a doubt there will be a few
restrictions but with flights at that price and a good central 3 star hotel costing around
45.00 for 2 people with breakfast it is cheaper than a weekend away at home. You are only
about one and a half hours from the South of France and around 2 hours from Milan and very
close to Monaco. If you look at our list or properties you will be surprised that you can
afford much more than you think.

Volterra
Volterra is one of the finest and less-known hilltop
towns tucked away in the heart of Southern Tuscany. It is located a short distance from
Florence and Siena and is only 64km from Pisa, which is also the nearest airport. Volterra
is idyllically set amidst an evocative landscape of soft rolling hills and lush woodland
and dominates the Cecina and Era valleys. A haven of Etruscan, Roman, Medieval and
Rennaissance art and architecture, Volterra and the surrounding area offer a peaceful and
relaxing location for your Tuscan home. The area has a Mediterranean climate with a fairly
mild winter weather and generally dry summers.
Volterra has borne witness to 3,000 years of cultural influence and still retains its
medieval character and charm. The defensive wall that encircles the city was built in the
13th century and many of the houses and palazzi were built between the 13th and 14th
centuries. It is situated 40kms from.
This area is still quite undiscovered and wonderful Casa Colonica
can be found at reasonable prices, either ready to move into or to restore. Please see a
selection of our properties , more are available on request.

Eastern Liguria, Cinque Terre
This is the name given to the
stretch of coastline that links: Monterosso al Mare, Vewrnazza, Corniglia, Manarola and
Riomaggiore. The scenic character of these seaside towns owes much to the absence of a
connecting coast road. There is only one main road about halfway up the hillside and this
provides a great opportunity for cycling. The towns are linked by the Genoa, Rome rail link and road links between La
Spezia and Portovenere.
If you buy in these villages you will normally leave your car in the 'piazza' and take the
electric bus down to the sea and shops. There are many other attractive villages nearby
although not called 'Cinque Terre', these are Portovenere, Levanto and Lerici, to name a
few.
Property in these villages are not cheap, however you can purchase a unique property right
on the sea front. As you can probably imagine food in the area is based on fresh fish and
pasta.

that House
This region of Italy is rich in history and culture as most of Italy and has a distinctive
rural feel, in the area around Amandola and Macerata Its green rolling hills and
historical castles gives the feeling of space and the food today is still based on the
simple peasant diet of years gone by. The land changes as you go towards the sea where you
will find the typical seaside towns. San Benedetto del Tronto on the border of Le Marche
and Abruzzo with it huge palm trees and sandy beaches and can offer you a very good
infrastructure
We have properties available very close to the sea,or if you are looking for that
rustic style property we can offer you some just 7 kms inland. This
untapped area offers great properties at prices that you can afford. You may
not have thought of it before but we would certainly suggest that you take a look.
For the area around Amandola, Ancona is the nearest airport and for the San Benedetto area
you can fly to Ancona or Pescara. The airports are one to one and a half hours from the
properties

Basilicata
and Peters Selection
This is a little known region in the South of
Italy that borders Puglia and has wonderful beaches and interesting historical properties
such as the Sassi of Matera ( we will soon be offering you properties here) It
is un-spoilt and un discovered, which means of course that the properties are still great
value!
Food and wine in the area is as you would expect in Italy, delicious. There is the normal
huge emphasis on fresh produce and vegetables feature greatly on the menu. If you have a
sweet tooth you cant go wrong with breakfast croissants the largest I have seen
filled with fresh pastry cream and fresh cherry jam! ,
You can fly to Bari or Brindisi which means you have a choice of scheduled or budget
airlines. From the airport you should allow about one and a quarter hours.
