COMMISSION, WHO PAYS?
If you purchase a property in Italy
you will have to pay commission. This applies whether you purchase from a
company that is based in the UK or in Italy. Sometimes clients think that is
they buy directly in Italy that they will save money but that is not the
case, in fact in some cases you will pay more, but in any event you will
have to pay. The law states that this money should be paid at the exchange
of contracts and not at completion. If you are told that you will not have
to pay commission, this is normally reflected in the price of the property.
Casa Travella Ltd think it is
fairer to ask for the money in stages and they normally charge 3% ( figures
vary from 3% to 6% for other agents) of the purchase price or €3.500.00 if the price of the
property is €120.000.00 or under.
